Policy Agenda
Every year, CEDAM works with its members to develop a legislative policy agenda. The agenda guides policy staff and the Policy Committee as they advocate in Lansing and beyond for community economic development.

- Permanent affordable housing
- Development and preservation of affordable rental housing
- Development of promising rental housing models, including permanent supportive housing
- Incentives and rewards to affordable housing providers to follow green building guidelines
Vibrant Neighborhoods
- Transformation of transit for overall community mobility
- Creation of safe environments, including tools for addressing blight and drug nuisances
- Reductions in racial segregation
- Historic Preservation
Economic Development
- Policies that assist people with learning new skills to support the new economy and promote entrepreneurship
- Community development that leverages federal stimulus investment
- Downtown revitalization
- Support for local businesses

- Foreclosure prevention
- Consumer protections from predatory lending
- Homeownership counseling and resources for homeownership for all individuals
- Financial resources for home repair and improvements
Asset Building (see Asset Building Policy Project)
- Improved financial literacy for all Michigan families
- Expanded opportunities to save and create wealth for Michigan families
- Increased access to affordable, high-quality financial services and products
Healthy Rural Communities (see Michigan Rural Network)

- Renewable energy investment and energy conservation efforts in rural communities
