At a special MSHDA Board
meeting Friday, January 4, the Board reviewed the December 21
letter from Governor Granholm requesting, among other things,
that an immediate funding round under the 2005/6 QAP not
be tied to approval of the 2008/9 QAP. While the board
did not rescind its December 19 resolution for legal and
logistical reasons, they did effectively untie the two:
MSHDA Executive Director
Michael DeVos ordered an immediate funding round under
the 2005/6 QAP using 25% of 2008 credits with applications due January
18 and confirmed that this round would occur
independent of the Governor's final approval of the 2008/9
QAP, which she has suggested will occur by February 10 pending
review by an independent tax consultant.
The Board also discussed
retaining its own independent consultant to conduct a "post
process" review of the QAP, reaffirming that they had already
approved the 2008/9 QAP on December 19.
CEDAM
will continue to track developments on the QAP. Please
