Please note these important deadlines and workshops

SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

CEDAM is gathering a group to discuss the recent bills that were introduced by Representative Tobocman, HB 5437, 5438, and 5439 on property tax reductions for supportive housing. We understand that this is an important issue for several of our members and we would like to get our members' opinions on the bills. If you would like to be a part of this discussion please contact Alicia, by Monday, January 7th.

NEW MARKET TAX CREDITS

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's CDFI Fund recently announced the opening of the sixth round of competition for tax credits on $3.5 billion of equity investments under the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program.

Those interested in learning how to apply for an allocation of NMTCs in the upcoming 2008 round of the NMTC Program, including how to apply for certification as a Community Development Entity (CDE), can do so by either attending the Application Workshop held from 9:00 a.m. - Noon in Detroit on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Sheraton Detroit Riverside Hotel. The registration form can be found here. Please take advantage of this opportunity!

Those unable to make it to the workshop on Monday can attend the workshop webcast. This will be broadcast live on January 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. The necessary link to the webcast will be made available on the CDFI Fund's website the morning of the day of the webcast.

DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION

MSHDAThe CATeam has extended the deadline for registrations for their January downtown revitalization workshops held from January 8 - 29 around the state (Alpena, Marquette, Manistee, Midland, Kalamazoo, Lapeer, and Ann Arbor) until 5pm TODAY, Friday, January 4th. Please check out the updated agenda and the registration form with workshop date/location details.
