  • The Community Economic Development track features topics like inclusive design, community organizing, alternative transit, community food markets, land use and smart growth, community collaboration, and much more!
    • The CED track committee worked very hard to bring together interesting topics with engaging speakers. An example of one is the session on Urban Design - the panelist is Detroit Architect Mark Nickita, recently elected 2008 President of American Institute of Architects, Detroit Chapter

  • The Asset Building for Families and Individuals track will feature several new sessions based on the 2007-2008 Assets and Opportunity Scorecard released by CFED, including microenterprise, children's savings accounts, asset limits, and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
Additionally, the Asset Building track will present a full day of sessions on addressing the foreclosure crisis in Michigan. There will be sessions for all levels-beginner through advanced-on prevention, setting up a foreclosure counseling program, legal advocacy, legislative responses, and innovative community collaborations.
