| House Speaker Unveils Road Map to Michigan's
Recovery |
| Michigan's
Housing & Community Development Fund is highlighted as
part of the plan... |
To a packed hearing room in the
State Capitol, House Speaker Andy Dillon today unveiled the Road Map to Michigan's Recovery. The plan
speaks to sweeping reforms to state and local government, cuts
in government spending, and investments in areas critical to
Michigan's ability to compete in the 21st Century global
economy.
CEDAM encourages our members and partners to support
MHCDF by visiting the Living in Michigan campaign website. Second,
plan on joining us at the Capitol Lawn in Lansing on
Wednesday, May 2, from 11am to 1pm, for CED
Advocacy Day. Third, use the website,
Advocacy Day, and other means at your disposal to contact your
legislators and strongly urge them to support programs and
legislation that invest in our cities, towns, villages, and
communities. |
| So What Does Michigan's Housing & Community
Development Fund Mean to Me and My Organization? |
| The Fund will
support YOUR activities to better YOUR
community... |
MHCDF relates directly to the role of CEDAM's members. This
would be a Fund administered by MSHDA that would support the
activities of our members. CEDAM has been working
towards the implementation of this Fund for its entire
existence; indeed, the struggle to obtain dedicated revenue
for the work we do goes back at least 15 years, and
many leaders in our industry have been involved in working on
this.
CEDAM and our Coalition partners need your help! In the
next several weeks, we will be bringing our message on the
Fund to your communities. If there is an existing
opportunity in your community to share information on the
Fund, please let us know. We look forward to meeting with
you and providing you with more information on this important
proposal for Michigan's
future! | |
